Thank you for visiting our website and I am pleased to announce that an integrated Classical Curriculum is coming to the Western suburbs of Chicago. Earlier last year, my wife and I had the privilege and honor of attending the Canonization of Pope St. John Paul II and Pope St. John XXIII. It was there I heard Pope Francis call John Paul the Great the Pope of the Family. Out of all his accomplishments from Theology of the Body to tearing down Communism, his devotion to the importance of the family was what Pope Francis thought was most important. Today, the family needs to be supported by the educational process not torn apart by it. This is what drives us to start this small apostolate. It is truly inspired by our children, the Holy Spirit and the courageous folks that started the original Chesterton Academy in Minnesota. In a world, where Bishops get criticized or even sued for asking their teachers to adhere to the Catholic faith, we want to provide an oasis where there are teachers willing to take an oath to the Magisterium publicly. This is what helps bring Joy to the Classroom. Our goal is simple. We want the students who attend Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family to get to Heaven. Jesus did not just die on the cross and rise from the dead for our salvation, but He also started a Church to help get us to Heaven. We will take full advantage of that concept with starting each day with Mass. From there, students will get a complete education from Math to Literature to Philosophy to Theology to Art and Music in a curriculum that has been time tested and worked for St. Thomas Aquinas and Thomas Jefferson. The focus is on the students but we recognize that parents are the primary educators of their children and we are only providing a small but important part of the Faith. Jesus chose to enter the world not as a grown man, but as a helpless child in a family. Our goal is to help the parents and help strengthen the family unit. The family is where children best find their vocation, and not the vocation that society tells them, but the vocation that God wants for them. St. Catherine of Siena said, “If you become who you were meant to be, you will set the world on fire.” Let’s go set the world on fire!
I would like to also take the opportunity to thank all of our generous donors who recognize the mission and have wanted to help. I also want to encourage any of you reading this who can help either financially or through volunteering to come join our mission. We cannot do this alone and always welcome more help. Please keep us in your prayers and know that you will remain in mine.

In the last few years, God had placed on our hearts to do something more, to find a way to help others…Julie was thinking of a year long mission trip to Africa or Costa Rica, Brenie was thinking of feeding the poor in our area, but ultimately God said; “Start a high school.”
We thought; “What?! How?! Help?!” Then just as God calmed the storm for the apostles, he did so for us and we responded – “Ok we’ll do it!” And so along with our dear friends, The Tierney’s, we have been working toward opening a school where the students will encounter truth, goodness and beauty in a joyful atmosphere that will help build the culture of life.
Starting a high school came from our desire to give our children a tried and true classical education, like Aristotle, St. Thomas Aquinas and Thomas Jefferson had. As co-founders of the school we want this gift of a classical education for all high school students now and in the future, therefore we have set our tuition at an affordable price for families looking for a classical education. Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family is the fruition of wanting to provide the very best education for our children, steeped in rigorous academics and the Catholic faith. There are many good Catholic schools in the area, but none offer a truly classical curriculum, that is not until now.
We have been very, very blessed in our lives and hope to give back to others through this beautiful, joyful and academically rigorous high school that goes against the modern trends. We look forward to sharing Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family with all!
