Applications are open for the 2018-2019 school year.



We have an Open House scheduled for January 15 from 9 – 10:30 am. Having a tour during the school day is a perfect opportunity for potential families to see Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family in operation. A visit to the Academy is an excellent way to become familiar with the unique character of our school, and provides an indispensable aid to prospective students who are discerning where to spend their high school years. It is best to join us for an open house, but we know that this isn’t always possible, therefore we can schedule a personal tour. Prospective students should schedule a shadow day at our campus to experience the Socratic methodology that our teachers use in the classroom, our classical curriculum, our exceptional and caring faculty, and our warm, welcoming, and promising students of Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family. Students can experience a typical day at Chesterton Academy by spending a day with our students. Because of our unique schedule, we cannot always accommodate special requests for class preference (art, music, literature, science). Shadow days will be scheduled starting in mid-October for current 8th grade students. We have a limited number of shadow days available through April. In April, 7th grade students are welcome to shadow.

The online application for the 2018-2019 school year is open. The fee is $35 and non-refundable for freshman. The application fee must be paid prior to the HSPT placement test on December 2, 2017. The non-refundable fee is $75 for transfer students. The application requires questions to be answered by the parents and the student, as well as a short essay writing sample. Our preferred application deadline is before December 22, 2017. All application fees must be paid by December 1, 2017. Admission decisions will begin in mid – late February.


The HSPT placement exam is a required part of the application process for incoming freshman and homeschooled transfer students. This requirement will be waived if the HSPT test was taken within a year and results are uploaded during the application process or if other standardized test scores are available during the last calendar year. The testing date is December 2, 2017. More information is available on the HSPT page.


We would like to meet with each prospective family that applies or would like to apply to Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family. This meeting may be with the Headmaster, Executive Director, Admissions Staff or a Founder. Meetings can be scheduled at the end of a shadow day or on a later date.


We expect to make admission decisions in mid-late February for the 2018-2019 school year, pending the HSPT reports. Chesterton Academy of The Holy Family will email the admissions’ decision. Results will not be disclosed prior to this notification. Admission decisions can only be made when an application is complete. The First Semester report card of the current year should be uploaded prior to an admission decision. Second Semester report cards of the current grade will need to be uploaded by July 1, 2018.

  • Students who are accepted will be notified by email by the Headmaster.
  • Students who are accepted will need to enroll no later than April 1, 2018, or upon decision by the Headmaster.
  • A $375 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of enrollment.

  • Students who are wait-listed will receive an email notification from the admissions’office when and if space becomes available.
