Thank You for a Great Spring Fine Arts Festival
Wow! What a night! Thank you to our students for your dedication to the crafts of dance, art, and music. Thank you to our parents for your continued support of the fine arts. And thank you to our faculty and staff for all the work they put into the students and into the night. A special thank you to Mrs. Vanda Varnai-Garcia, our dance instructor, Mrs. Kim Roth, our art teacher, and Mrs. Janet Podczerwinski, our music and drama director. The way you cultivate the talents of every student in this school is remarkable. Go Saints!
In Case You Missed It
Before Easter, we shared our calendar of major dates for next year. Click here to download it so you can print and post it! It is also posted on the parents’ webpage in case you need the link in the future.
Spring Swing
Tomorrow we’ll be swinging! We are looking forward to our annual spring all-school dance. In case you missed it, here are the important details of the day:
The Chesterton Spring Swing is on April 23rd from 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm. The cost is $10 and includes appetizers, drinks, and desserts. Please eat dinner prior to coming to the event.
This is not a dance that involves ‘bringing a date’. The beauty of our school is that we build friendships through relationships that are not exclusive.
Doors open at 6:45 p.m. and students must arrive no later than 7:10 pm, unless given prior permission by the headmaster or executive director. Entrance will not be allowed after 7:10 pm. No exceptions will be made so please plan accordingly.
Students must always remain on campus. No student may leave campus and return, not even to go to their car.
Students are required to sign out when they leave.
No cell phones may be used for social media, texting or phone calls during the event. Parents can call the school office if they need to contact their student.
Please treat all of the chaperones with the utmost respect.
In an effort to create a safe environment for all students, dance attendees must conduct themselves in an appropriate manner. The school administration and chaperones will use their best judgment to identify and stop inappropriate behavior.
We will have light appetizers and drinks for all. Please eat dinner prior to the event.
Dress Code: Gentlemen will wear dress pants, collared and button-down shirts, dress socks, and dress shoes. Ladies should wear a nice dress or skirt and blouse and follow the uniform policy in the handbook. Dresses must be modest and at the knee or below. Dress shoes should be nice and comfortable--not higher than 1 1/2" so you can dance the whole night long! All of our out-of-uniform expectations are in effect of course.
Permission and Payment: Please read the parent permission slip here if you would like a refresher. This contains all the necessary information. The deadline for permission slips and payment was April 20. Thank you!
Supper Club Postponed
Our April 30th Supper Club has been postponed. Our new date is yet to be determined.
Senior Drama
In just two weeks, on May 5-7, we will watch the senior class in their last drama performance here at Chesterton. What a bittersweet time! We are excited to watch them perform Shakespeare’s The Winter’s Tale. A tale of love, jealousy, compassion, and of course, an exit pursued by a bear. You will not want to miss this show, set in the exotic Bohemia, and our seniors last performance! Keep your eye out for tickets which will go live next week.
Flowers for Mary
May is the month of our Blessed Mother. Join us in honoring her by bringing her flowers each week. You can sign up to do so here. Most Blessed Mother, pray for us.
