Junior and Senior Soirée

Come dance the night away and send off our seniors! Ticket sales for the Junior and Senior Soirée close soon! All Juniors and Seniors are invited. Senior parents, you are invited too so you can enjoy this special milestone event with your student! The evening will consist of dinner and dancing. Mr. Patrick McCormack, father Augie (‘22), will be the DJ for the evening. This is one of our favorite nights of the year, and we hope you can make it.

Graduation Traditions

The last time we had a traditional graduation together in person was in May 2019 at Holy Trinity in Westmont. All freshman, sophomore, and junior students attended the event to sing at Mass. In 2020, we had a virtual Mass and ceremony due to COVID protocols. In 2021, COVID once again interrupted our tradition: seniors and their guests were invited, along with the junior class to serve as the choir for the Mass.

This year, we finally have the opportunity to return to our tradition where every Chesterton student attends graduation and sings in the all-school choir. And once again, we are happy to invite all of our families to attend!

Please join us at the Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 26, at 6:15 p.m. Both the Mass and the ceremony will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul in Naperville. Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors are required to attend in their formal choir attire, and Seniors have a formal dress code of their own that will be sent in a final reminder to the Class of 2022 on Monday. After the ceremony, there will be a light reception where we can celebrate our graduates. We hope to see you all there!

Arrival Time for Seniors: 4:45 p.m. - Come to the chapel of the Parish Hall (the red brick building) for attendance.

Arrival Time for Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors: 5:15 p.m. - Come to the chapel of the Parish Hall (the red brick building) for attendance.

Last Day Picnic

On the last day of school, doors will open at 8:45 a.m. and we will have Mass at 9:00 a.m. with Fr. Ryan. Parents, grandparents, and siblings are invited to join us for Mass and our traditional year-end picnic from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Please remember to bring your own lawn chairs. We will be grilling out, and we need a few more parents to help out with organizing, shopping, cooking, and cleanup. Sign up for a volunteer position by clicking here if you’d like to help out! This link also includes of few “end of the year” jobs on Thursday, as well as sign-ups for snacks at the picnic. We appreciate everything you do to help Chesterton!

At the picnic, we will have some fun games to play, along with opportunities for students to challenge their teachers!

Fond Farewells and Welcomes

After the end of the school year, we will be bidding farewell to some members of the Chesterton family:

  • Ms. Clare Fletcher, one of our humanities instructors, will be entering a new Dominican community in Bismarck, North Dakota. Please pray for her as she takes the next step in pursuing her vocation to religious life!

  • Ms. Maureen Severance, our Director of Marketing and Student Life, will be getting married in the summer and coincidentally will also be moving to Bismarck, North Dakota. Keep her and her fiancé Phil in your prayers as they enter into this wonderful sacrament.

We also look forward to welcoming:

  • Ms. Colette McCormack (‘18) as our Mission Advancement Coordinator

  • Ms. Kaitlyn Reznicek (‘18) as a Humanities Instructor and Student Life Coordinator

  • Ms. Alexandra Scherb as our Student Lifecycle Manager

In the coming weeks, we will be sure to share more about our new hires with you!
