Senior Capstone Pilgrimage to Italy
The Chesterton Schools Network Senior Capstone Pilgrimage 2025 to the Eternal City and Beyond was amazing. The church is celebrating the Jubilee Year of Hope and we were able to celebrate along with the entire Catholic Church!
In Rome, they walked through the Holy Doors of the Four Papal Basilicas—St. Peter’s, St. Paul Outside the Walls, St. John Lateran, and St. Mary Major. They stood in awe at the Colosseum and Roman Forum, prayed at the tombs of saints, and soaked in the history and beauty of the Church’s universal home.
From Rome, the pilgrimage continued to Orvieto to venerate the Miracle of Bolsena, to Loreto to visit the Holy House, and finally to the peace of Assisi, where they walked in the footsteps of St. Francis and St. Clare and visited the tomb of the soon to be Saint - Blessed Carlos Acutis.
We are deeply grateful for the graces received, the unforgettable memories made, and the lasting joy our pilgrims will carry with them for a lifetime. Thank you to our chaperones who truly made this pilgrimage possible.
A heartfelt thank you to our school chaplain, Fr. Andrew Buchanan, and to the other chaplains who accompanied the Chesterton Academy students, guiding them in prayer and spiritual formation throughout this sacred journey.
“Men did not love Rome because she was great. She was great because they had loved her.” — G.K. Chesterton
