All Things Gala

Our gala website is just about ready to go live so you can start purchasing tables, sponsorships, and individual event tickets. In the meantime, please read below for all the ways you can get involved in our annual flagship fundraiser!

RAFFLE

The Grand Raffle for cash prizes is now live! We have 800 tickets to sell, so let’s start telling friends and family about the great cash prizes and all the ways that their contributions are necessary to keep our school thriving!

Tickets are $100 each! Click here to visit the raffle page. And you can also download and print additional flyers using this PDF file. Check out the raffle incentives for our students and families for a few bonus points and prizes!

AUCTION

Mrs. Nawas and the auction committee have launched their efforts and they would love everyone’s help in procuring items for the auction.

Simple, elegant, and successful is always the theme for our auction, and we are aiming for quality over quantity in our baskets! We suggest that families focus their efforts on items that have been successful at raising significant amounts in the past. Here are some examples:

  • Experiences; e.g., meals with priests or well-known people, tours, weekends away, etc.

  • Services and memberships

  • High-end purses and bags

  • Religious jewelry, prints, and other gifts

  • Salon gift cards with salon products

  • High-end spirits or wine

  • Sporting events tickets

  • Restaurant gift cards

If you would like to procure items, you will need the auction intake form as well as the partner letter to introduce businesses to our event and school. All items turned into the school (they should be turned in at the office, attention “Auction Committee”) must be accompanied by an intake form. For more information on how the committee accepts and organizes items into baskets, please review the intake form.

AD BOOK

Some businesses might also want to buy an ad in our ad book! Please use the ad price form to let them know of the costs. If you’re interested in the back cover or center spread, act fast, because they sell quickly! You can purchase your ad spot here.

A Few Notes on the Harvest Dance

The Harvest Dance is tomorrow and we are excited! Please keep in mind a few things for the evening:

  • Students will not be able to use their cell phones during the evening. If you need to get ahold of your student you may call the school phone. If your student needs to get ahold of you they can also use the school phone.

  • If you need to pick a student up early, or if your student needs to leave early, the parent must call the office to let them know. If a parent is picking up a student early, they must come in and check them out.

  • Just a reminder that dinner is not provided for the students, so they should come having eaten. We will have light refreshments and drinks at the dance. No outside food or beverage can be brought in.

  • We are so excited for a great evening of fun and dancing!

Book of the Names of the Dead

Dear Chesterton Families,

As October comes to a close, we are turning our attention to the month of November, the month during which the Church remembers in a special way the souls of all the faithful departed. This year, we are bringing one expression of this commemoration to Chesterton in the form of the Book of the Names of the Dead. Throughout the month of November, a Book of the Dead will be available in the school’s chapel. Students and Faculty are encouraged to write the names of their beloved dead - grandparents, relatives, parents, siblings, friends, etc. - in the book. These names will be remembered at Mass throughout the month of November. The Book of the Names of the Dead has enough space to be used by Chesterton for many years, and we hope will be part of Chesterton’s commemoration of the faithful departed for years to come.

Peace,

Fr. Ryan Adorjan

Chaplain and Instructor of Theology

Last chance for basketball sign ups are this upcoming week! Lady Saints basketball sign ups close on November 1 and Gentleman Saints on November 8. Yearbook Club Meeting - November 4

The yearbook club will have a brief meeting on Thursday, November 4, from 3:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. in St. Isidore. All students who are interested in formally joining the club should come. We will briefly go over the timeline for the year, the various roles within the club, and get you signed up with our yearbook design site. If you cannot make it to the meeting, please send Ms. Severance an email, maureen.severance@cathf.com, and she will fill you in. We hope to see you there!

Mass Intentions

This year, as in years past, we are able to take Mass intentions from our community for our daily on-campus Masses. The month of November is a wonderful time to have your dearly departed loved ones prayed for at Mass. Please find the Mass page here and let us know how we can pray for you!

November Open House

Our October Open House was amazing! We had over 25 families join us and we are very pleased with the number of prospective families who visited. We have another Open House November 10. Please pass this link along to your family and friends so they can RSVP today! Our October date filled up so quickly that we had to create a wait list.

This year, our admissions application deadline for freshmen is December 31, and we expect to fill up. Please encourage families with an 8th grader to RSVP for an open house or visit in the coming weeks. You can visit our admissions page for more information.
