Ladies Volleyball Metro Prep League Champions!
A huge congratulations to our Ladies Volleyball team on becoming the Metro Prep League Champions! They had an incredible season and ended the year with an even more incredible game. Our ladies went into the playoff week with an undefeated season. On Tuesday night our ladies played their first playoff game and won it in just two sets! On Wednesday night, after an intense Field Day, our ladies mustered all their energy to win the championship game in just two sets! Both games were packed with amazing athleticism and spectacular skill, and they had us on the edge of our seats the entire time. What a way to end the season! We are so proud of our Lady Saints! Our Lady Queen of Victory, pray for us. Non nobis, Domine.

2020 Fall Harvest Dance
The annual Fall Harvest Dance is next week on Saturday, October 30, from 6:30-9:30 p.m. It’s a lively evening of dancing and fellowship. Please take a look at the poster and Harvest Dance Agreement for all the information you need.
Gala Season is Underway!
Our auction website is just about ready to go live so you can start purchasing tables, sponsorships, and individual tickets. In the meantime, please read below for all the ways you can get involved in our annual flagship fundraiser!
Raffle
At last Saturday’s Chesterton Supper Club, parents received their gala flyers so that families can begin buying and and selling raffle tickets. We have 800 to sell, so let’s start telling friends and family about the great cash prizes and all the ways that their contributions are necessary to keep our school thriving!
Tickets are $100 each! Click here to visit the raffle page. And you can also download and print additional flyers using this PDF file.
Auction
Mrs. Nawas led the first auction committee meeting this morning, and we would love everyone’s help in procuring items for the auction.
Simple, elegant, and successful is always the theme for our auction, and we are aiming for quality over quantity in our baskets! We suggest that families focus their efforts on items that have been successful at raising significant amounts in the past. Here are some examples:
Religious jewelry, prints, and other gifts
Salon gift cards with salon products
High-end spirits or wine
Sporting events tickets
Restaurant gift cards
High-end purses and bags
Services and memberships
Experiences; e.g., meals with priests or well-known people, tours, weekends away, etc.
If you would like to procure items, you will need the auction intake form, as well as the partner letter to introduce businesses to our event and school. All items turned into the school (they should be turned in at the office, attention “Auction Committee”) must be accompanied by an intake form. For more information on how the committee accepts and organizes items into baskets, please review the intake form.
Ad book
Some businesses may not be interested in donating an item but might want buy an ad in our ad book! Please use the ad price form to let them know of the costs. If you’re interested in the back cover or center spread, act fast, because they sell quickly!
Basketball Update
Boys and girls basketball is starting very soon! Please sign up here by October 29th to secure yourself a spot on the team. Please see the updated school calendar for practice dates and times starting on November 1st!
College Visits
College visits are happening on campus again! Parents of juniors and seniors are invited to sit in on the college representative talks which take place usually from 12:30 p.m. - 1:00 p.m. on scheduled days. Please regularly review the school calendar for upcoming college visit dates and times as more will be added. All juniors are asked to attend, and seniors are strongly encouraged to attend as well. Our next college visit will be on November 8 with Belmont Abbey College.
Coffee and Conversation
Our second Coffee and Conversation for parents will be on October 27 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. here on campus. Our discussion leader will be Mr. Patrick Lyon, and he will be discussing G.K. Chesterton’s The Ballad of the White Horse. There is no homework — just come ready for a fun discussion with other parents. We will provide coffee and water, but would love for a few parents to bring something to share. Please RSVP and sign up to pitch in by clicking here.
Mr. Lyon graduated from the Program of Liberal Studies (a Great Books program) at the University of Notre Dame. You won’t want to miss this one!
All Saints Day
All Saints Day, on November 1, is coming up in ONE week! Please take a look at the costume guidelines here. Please take a moment to look at last year’s Flickr album from the day for inspiration. (All Saints Day is a full day of school.)
All Saints Day here at Chesterton is a pretty big deal. “Why?” you ask? The saints are some of our greatest teachers. They are simple people who lived profound lives in every age that we study. From the early Christian martyrs to the young Blessed Carlo Acutis and his Nike shoes, we see that every person is called to sainthood, no matter the age or time period. We take the Saints as our patrons for our various sports teams and strive, with every play we make, to honor their lives on and off the courts and fields.
Don’t forget there is a house point incentive, so we hope to see all students, faculty, and staff dressed up!
Choir Attire
At this time, everyone should have ordered their choir attire for the year. If you have not, please do so this weekend or your attire may not come in time for Lessons and Carols on December 16. You can find all the details for ordering on our uniform page.
Please remember that Lessons and Carols is an all-student, required event.
The Sophomore Play - The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood
The Sophomore Play, The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood, will be premiering on November 11-13 at 7pm on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, as well as 2pm on Saturday. Tickets will be on sale soon! We expect that all shows will sell out! It’s going to be a hoot. And congratulations to Melina (‘25) and Gabrielle (‘25) on their winning playbill design! We are so proud of our young artists!
