Field Day

Our Fall Field Day is next Wednesday on October 20! Field days consist of intellectual, artistic, and athletic competitions between the four houses for a full school day. Students will need to wear their house t-shirts and dress in their house colors (blue for Ambrose, red for Athanasius, green for Chrysostom, and yellow for Augustine). Students, please take a look at the uniform page for the out-of-uniform guidelines.

OUT OF UNIFORM EXPECTATIONS

On special occasions, we will invite students to attend school or school-sponsored events (e.g., dances, field trips, retreats, etc.) out of their uniforms. If students choose to attend an out-of-uniform event in their uniforms, they must meet all standards of being fully in uniform (e.g., shirt tucked in, modest accessories, proper shoes, correct sweater/blazer/apparel, etc.)

The out-of-uniform expectations are event-specific and will be announced before each event. However, they will include at all times:

- No ripped or dirty clothing.

- No overly revealing clothing: this refers to factors including but not limited to cut-outs in clothing (e.g., shoulder or midriff cutouts), overly tight clothing (any leggings), no shorts for girls, and no short skirts (that hit above the knee).

- No text or imagery that does not align with our mission.

Students, find those house tees! If a student misplaced a house tee, he can buy one here. The link is also on the student page, so please look for it there as well. If a student does not come dressed in his house colors and shirt or is dressed inappropriately, he must come in full uniform or sit out of activities until a parent brings the appropriate change of clothes.

We look forward to a day of friendly and spirited competition. This is a huge chance to win points for your house!

Seasonal Uniform Update

Beginning on October 15 and continuing through May 15, all students must wear a finishing item with their uniform. Please take a look at this graphic for helpful uniform reminders.

Don’t forget to order your choir attire for our annual 9 Lessons and Carols on December 16. All students are required to have choir attire. You can find all the information to order those pieces here down at the bottom of the charts.

The 2022 Fleur-de-Lis Raffle is Live!

Yearbook Picture Retake

Yearbook picture retake day will be on October 19. Students, if you would like a new picture, please come looking sharp and in your full uniform. Parents, you can reorder pictures here and use the ID: EVT8HHBNF

College Visit

This week is a big college visit week for our juniors and seniors! We will have representatives come from Christendom College to speak to our juniors and seniors on Monday and representatives from Hillsdale College on Tuesday.

The Fewkes family is also hosting a Christendom College parent’s night. Please take a look at this poster for more information and to RSVP. Space is limited, so be sure to RSVP as soon as possible.

Lady Saints Volleyball

Our Lady Saints volleyball team had their senior night this week and had an awesome winning game! The team will begin the Metro Prep playoffs this week. At this time we are the top seed in the league! Go Lady Saints! Our first game will be a home game on Tuesday, the 19th, at 6pm. To show unified support for our Lady Saints, it will be a Hawaiian shirt themed evening, so please wear a Hawaiian shirt and follow the out-of-uniform guidelines. If we win that game, the championship game will be at home on Wednesday, the 20th, at 5pm. It will be a blue-out, so wear your Chesterton blue! All game information will be on the calendar for reference. Let’s get rowdy this week and support our Lady Saints with our cheers! Our Lady, Queen of Victory, pray for us!

Fall Harvest Dance

The annual Fall Harvest Dance is in two weeks on Saturday, October 30, from 6:30-9:30pm. It’s lively evening of dancing and fellowship. Please take a look at the poster and Harvest Dance Agreement for all the information you need.

Coffee and Conversation

Our second Coffee and Conversation with a teacher will be on October 27 from 8:00 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. here on campus. There is no homework - just come ready for a fun discussion with other parents. We will provide coffee and water, but would love for a few parents to bring something to share. Please RSVP, sign up to pitch in, here.

All Saints Day Costume Rules

All Saints Day, on November 1, is coming up in two weeks! Please take a look at the costume guidelines here. Please take a moment to look at last year’s Flickr album from the day for inspiration.

All Saints Day here at Chesterton is a pretty big deal. “Why?” you ask? The saints are some of our greatest teachers. They are simple people who lived profound lives in every age that we study. From the early Christian martyrs to the young Blessed Carlo Acutis and his Nike shoes, we see that every person is called to sainthood, no matter the age or time period. We take the Saints as our patrons for our various sports teams and strive, with every play we make, to honor their lives on and off the courts and fields.

Don’t forget there is a house point incentive!

Spiritual Opportunities News Page
