Prefect Nominations

We are very excited to begin the nomination process for our 2022-23 fall semester prefects! Please give the attached document a read before you begin the process of nominating a prefect. Here are details for the nomination process and the prefect selection process.

Nomination Process

  • Candidates for the position of prefect will be nominated by house members or any faculty or staff member from the 2021 -2022 school year. The candidates can be chosen from either the rising junior or senior class.

  • All students should read and reflect on the prefect description, found here, before they nominate a classmate.

  • All nominated students will be reviewed by the prefect advisory board. Select candidates will be contacted and given the requirements for the selection process. Not all nominated students will move on to the selection process. To nominate a student please use this link: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/823ac5c4ae2542469317aca0af1b4dca

    Selection Process

  • Nominees must prepare a cover letter (a prompt is provided) AND a resume.

  • They must send in their cover letter and resume by Monday, May 9.

  • Cover Letter Prompt: Beyond cleaning, what are the duties of a prefect?

  • Prepare for an interview – questions will not be supplied prior to the meeting. The applicants should read and reflect on the prefect description and responsibilities to prepare themselves.

  • Interview in person the week of May 9. A link to sign up for an interview will be sent to those selected by the prefect advisory board.

    Post-Selection Process

  • Nominees will be thoroughly reviewed and fully considered.

Graduation Details

In just 3 weeks the Class of 2022 will receive their hard-earned high school diplomas. We could not be more proud of the 4 years of hard work and perseverance they have put in, and we are honored to present them as our graduating class.

Please join us at the Baccalaureate Mass and Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, May 26, at 6:15 p.m. Both the Mass and the ceremony will take place at Sts. Peter and Paul in Naperville. All students are required to attend and will serve as our choir. After the ceremony, there will be a light reception where we can celebrate our graduates. We hope to see you all there!

Last Day Mass and Picnic

On the last day of school, doors will open at 8:45 a.m. and we will have Mass at 9:00 a.m. with Fr. Ryan. Parents, grandparents, and siblings are invited to join us for Mass and our traditional year-end picnic from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. The picnic will be BYOE (bring your own everything). However, we would love to grill for everyone if we can get a team of parents to help out with organizing, shopping, grilling, and cleanup. Email volunteers@cathf.com if you’d like to help out with that.

We will have some fun games to play, along with opportunities for students to challenge their teachers!

Concessions at Lunch Next Week

Starting on Tuesday, we will have a concessions stand at lunch! Chips, candy, chocolate, granola bars, and more will be available. Sales will be cash only so come prepared if you’d like to buy something.
