Earn More Merits for Raffle Sales
Attention, students: For each ticket sold, your house will get one merit. The revenue from our raffle will help fund our G.K. and Francis Chesterton Scholarship Fund, which makes it possible for more families to send their students to Chesterton. That is why your efforts to sell tickets are so important—and meritorious!
The current standings are:
Ambrose
Augustine
Athanasius
Chrysostom
Please note that the merits earned from raffle sales will only be factored in after House sales conclude before the gala. So the raffle contest could be a game changer for the White Horse Cup Competition!
One quick way to boost raffle sales today is to send an email to friends and family with a link to the raffle sales page, along with a few reasons you love Chesterton and want them to support the school, as well. (Be sure to ask them to put your name down as the person who sold them the ticket so we know that you earned the merit.)
National March for Life
Today is the National March for Life in Washington, D.C. Every day in America, 2,363 children are killed by abortion. This is why we march. We are so grateful to all our families and students who are marching for life today. Please keep all marchers and the pro-life movement in your prayers! Together we march, pray, and fight to defend life and to be a voice for the voiceless.
“America you are beautiful . . . and blessed . . . . The ultimate test of your greatness is the way you treat every human being, but especially the weakest and most defenseless. If you want equal justice for all and true freedom and lasting peace, then America, defend life.” —Pope St. John Paul II
Holy Family Week & Winter Field Day
The week of January 31 - February 4 will be our Holy Family Week! Holy Family Week will be filled with fun activities, field day, Open Mic Night, and more! Please take a look at this document for all the details on the week. Each day has a different themed dress code, so be sure to read the document so you can come dressed appropriately.
Open Mic Night
We’re looking forward to our annual school favorite, Open Mic Night! It will be our closing event for Holy Family Week on the evening of Friday, February 4.
Students, thank you for preparing your acts and letting Mr. Janeiro know of your plans. Please keep your eye out for the audition schedule. For auditions, come with your act polished and well practiced. We are excited to see what you’ve got!
Families, the evening will begin at 4:15pm with a student rosary. At 4:30pm the doors will open to all families. Fr. Ryan will give a brief Cultura Vitae talk on music, and that will be followed immediately by dinner. Dinner will be a BYOE (bring your own everything) for all students and their families. The acts will begin shortly into dinner and the evening will end at 8 p.m. It’s one of the best nights of the year and you won’t want to miss out! We hope to see everyone there!
Uniform for the school day and the event: Chesterton spirit wear (hoodies/sweatshirts/t-shirts etc.) and jeans. As always, our out-of-uniform rules apply.
Supper Club RSVP
RSVP for the supper club today! Our first supper club of the spring semester is in just a week, on Saturday, January 29, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The evening will once again take place at Ss. Peter and Paul (36 N Ellsworth St, Naperville, IL 60540) in their social hall in the red brick building next to the church. The evening’s talk will feature Chesterton parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jim and Lisa Beecher, as they walk us through creating a family mission statement and the benefits it will have. Please read a bit more about their talk here. Parents, get your new year off to a strong start by grounding your family in a shared mission!
Please RSVP here before noon on Thursday, January 27.
Junior Play
Our junior play, Anne of Green Gables, is in just a few weeks on February 10-12. We have a lively double cast who will bring this beloved classic to life. This play captures the charm and excitement of Lucy Maude Montgomery's enduring classic about an orphan girl, Anne Shirley, from her first encounter with her austere guardian to her thrilling graduation from Queen's Academy. You won’t want to miss it! Please save the date and we'll let you know when tickets go on sale!
Students, don’t miss out on the playbill competition! You can find all details here.

Classic Learning Test for Juniors - Test Date Updated
The Classic Learning Test (CLT) is the new standard for college entrance assessments. It is designed for high school juniors and seniors. The CLT takes two hours, and tests for grammar, literary comprehension, and mathematical and logical reasoning; it also contains an optional, ungraded essay portion.
The CLT10 is the official preparatory exam for the CLT. It is designed for high school freshmen and sophomores. The exam takes two hours and tests for the similar content as the CLT, at an age-appropriate level and with fewer questions of the highest difficulty. Sophomores will take the exam on April 27. The CLT10 provides scholarship opportunities through our partnership with the National Association of Scholars.
Test Dates for juniors and sophomores:
Juniors: To allow the class to focus on their play performances, we have received permission to hold the CLT exam on February 14 rather than on February 10, as originally planned.
Sophomores: Their class will be taking the CLT10 test on April 27.
