Chesterton Weekly 4/16/21
“Charity means pardoning the unpardonable, or it is no virtue at all. Hope means hoping when things are hopeless, or it is no virtue at all. And faith means believing the incredible, or it is no virtue at all.”
― G.K. Chesterton

Fine Arts Festival
And just like that, the Spring Fine Arts Festival is almost here. The students have been working hard on their artwork, music, and dancing. Prepare to be blown away by their talents! On that day, students are asked to leave the building promptly at 3:30 p.m. after the end of the school day so that the faculty can prepare campus for the event. Students will arrive back on campus at 6:30 p.m. to prepare for the evening. The event will begin for families at 7 p.m.
All students are expected to attend in their formal gala uniform. Please see the uniform page if you need a review.
Chesterton Supper Club
We have a supper club coming up! Parents, join us at St. James at Sag Bridge on April 24, from 6 p.m. - 9 p.m., for dinner, drinks, and merriment. These evenings are always a hit and the perfect way for you to meet your fellow Chesterton parents. Hopefully, we will be able to be outside for the event, but of course it will depend on the weather. When you RSVP, please sign up to bring your favorite dish, and don’t forget to include serving utensils with it! There is a suggested contribution of $5-10 per person to cover the cost of the venue donation, the decorations, plates, etc. You’re welcome to come even if your spouse can't make it. Beer, wine, water, and coffee will be available. You are welcome to bring your own soft drinks or other beverages. Registration is required by Thursday, April 22, so we can plan table seating. You won't want to miss this evening! We will also need help with setup and cleanup. The Perfect Potluck will be updated later if we need to add items.
Saints Athletics
This year, with sports, our seasons have looked a bit different. Due to the IHSA’s modified schedule for COVID, we have multiple sports seasons going on at the same time, which makes for a very busy schedule. A few more games have been added this week, and the Metro Prep League has also adjusted their playoff schedule as of this Wednesday afternoon. Please be sure to review the school calendar for the coming week.
If you have any questions about your practice or game times and locations, please contact your coach(es) directly through Jupiter Ed. We have asked the coaches to also communicate directly with each team weekly to confirm its schedule so that you have multiple ways to stay up to date. Go Saints!
Re-enrollment
Thanks to all of you who completed your re-enrollment for next year! Please be sure to check your email for a message sent on March 19 with the re-enrollment link. We have switched our enrollment process over to the Rediker system from TADS. If you click on the link in that email from March, you will be able to enter the Rediker system without a login, and the re-enrollment process takes just a few minutes. Please contact Ms. Jurado through Jupiter Ed if you have questions or if you need the link(s) to be re-sent. You will need to complete separate enrollment forms for each student you are re-enrolling. The process takes only about 5-10 minutes.
