Chesterton Weekly 4/9/21
“On the third day the friends of Christ coming at daybreak to the place found the grave empty and the stone rolled away. In varying ways they realized the new wonder; but even they hardly realized that the world had died in the night. What they were looking at was the first day of a new creation, with a new heaven and a new earth; and in a semblance of the gardener God walked again in the garden, in the cool not of the evening but of the dawn.”

Happy Octave of Easter!
Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! We hope you had a wonderful break, a blessed Holy Week, and a triumphant Easter! We are happy to have our halls filled again with the laughter of our students.
Re-Enrollment
Thanks to all of you who completed your re-enrollment for next year! Please be sure to check your email for a message sent on March 19 with the re-enrollment link. We have switched our enrollment process over to the Rediker system from TADS. If you click on the link in that email from March, you will be able to enter the Rediker system without a login, and the re-enrollment process takes just a few minutes. Please contact Ms. Jurado through Jupiter Ed if you have questions or if you need the link(s) to be re-sent. You will need to complete separate enrollment forms for each student you are re-enrolling.
Chesterton Supper Club
We have a supper club coming up! Parents, join us at St. James at Sag Bridge on April 24, from 6pm-9pm, for dinner, drinks, and merriment. These evenings are always a hit and the perfect way for you to meet your fellow Chesterton parents. Keep your eye out for more details, and we hope to see you there! Hopefully, we will be able to be outside for the event, but of course it will depend on the weather.
Spring Fine Arts Festival
The Fine Arts Festival is in just a few weeks! Keep that evening of April 22 open to see your student’s artwork, music, dances, and more! All students are required to attend and they must wear their gala attire for the evening’s festivities. It’s going to be a lovely night!
After-School Building Policies
Per the parents' webpage, this is the schedule for the building this year:
7:30 a.m. - Building open for drop-offs.
8:00 a.m - 8:10 a.m - Convocation
11:25 a.m - 12:15 p.m. - Mass
12:20 p.m. - 1:03 p.m. - Lunch and Lyceum
3:30 p.m. - Final bell
4:30 p.m. - Building closes
Students who do not arrive before the first bell (8:00 a.m.) will receive a demerit for their tardiness since convocation is when we begin the day with prayer and share important school announcements.
Families should arrange for all students who are not staying after school for sports or drama to be picked up promptly by 4:30 p.m.
We also need students' help keeping our campus clean. There must be no eating in the halls at any time. And while students are strongly encouraged to bring their own water bottle to school, they may not bring in other types of beverage containers: e.g. iced or hot coffee cups, glass bottles, other open containers that don't have a cover, etc. A number of students have been going to local restaurants after school and bringing back food and drink. Please consume those before coming back into the building for a sport or rehearsal.
Saints Athletics
This year, with sports, our seasons have looked a bit different. Due to the IHSA’s modified schedule for COVID, we have multiple sports seasons going on at the same time. If you have any questions about your practice or game times and locations, please contact your coach(es) directly through Jupiter Ed. Go Saints!
